High-Score Execution: The "Center-Line" Strategy

Amateur players tend to hug the extreme edges of the track, assuming fewer obstacles generate along the boundary lines. This is an illusion that frequently leads to unrecoverable deaths. snowrider

Why Hugging the Edges Fails

Camera Occlusion: Tilting the sled hard against the side walls compresses the camera angle, cutting off visibility of approaching hazards.
The "Corner Trap": If a multi-boulder cluster spawns along the track boundary while you are riding the edge, you have zero lateral escape routes to your outside flank. You are forced into an abrupt, sharp cut across oncoming traffic.
Dead Ends: High-altitude zones regularly feature rock walls and deep drop-offs that pinch the track's edges without warning.
